Nurturing Change

Psychospiritual Consulting
The work I do with clients is a reflection of my own personal healing journey.  More than any specific technique, what is most important in my work is staying attuned to my own heart.  This practice gives me the ability to connect deeply with my clients.  It allows the people I work with to move through issues when they previously may have felt stuck.  Depending on my client’s needs and my intuition of what is called for, I often intertwine various modalities of healing such as hypnosis, dream analysis, imaginal journeying, gestalt work, meditation, mindfulness, and somatic awareness.  These modalities come together like threads to form the particular fabric of each session. Throughout the work, I embrace the perspective that anxiety and depression are signals from within our deeper self to let us know that inner work is needed.  Though they are distressing, these symptoms also signal an opportunity for growth and more life.  This positive frame energizes the work and generates compassion to alleviate the painful feelings that so often accompany negative states of mind.

My understanding of the therapeutic relationship is one of sponsorship, collaboration and respect for each person’s individual journey.  My purpose is to encourage the spiritual and psychological inner work my clients must do to attain well-being, and to offer resources as they may be needed.  More specifically, I support my clients in exploring the areas of their life where they have difficulties.  We work to understand the meanings and repercussions of these difficulties.  Together, we search for ways in which change can best be nurtured.  Within this collaborative process, clients can begin to re-acquaint themselves with personal strengths and resources, and to understand and transform limiting beliefs they may hold about themselves. This opens the door to creating a more supportive understanding of one’s self that is better aligned with goals and personal values.  As time goes on, the vision of a more hopeful life naturally defines itself.  This vision is like a blueprint that is both flexible and evolving in response to insights and new understandings.  It is the foundation to support deep inner work.
